The Opportunity
Visy began manufacturing corrugated cardboard boxes in Melbourne, Australia, in 1948 and has grown to become one of the world's leading privately owned packaging, paper and recycling companies. As the Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the success of the Visy Logistics operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing critical financial insights, analysis, and reporting to facilitate informed decision-making.
The Role
Reporting to the Divisional Financial Controller and based at one of our offices in either Clayton or Epping, you will be a key member of the Visy Logistics team. You will be responsible for managing all the finance activities for the Visy Logistics Australian Intermodal and Bulk divisions. This includes financial reporting, system improvements, analytical support and helping the setup of all new businesses for these areas as required. There will be a close working relationship with the Intermodal and Bulk management teams which will include attending meetings and giving support where needed as their key finance business partner.
The primary purpose of the role includes responsibility for the following areas:
- Accounting for business units including both P&L and Balance Sheet management
- Continuous monitoring & reporting of the financial position against budget and forecasts
- Automation & Systems improvement
- Business partnering support for both business units
- Support for capital projects
- Review and approval of employee expense claims
- Analysis across several areas including head office spend and customer profitability
- Continual Intercompany review and clearing
- Projects including process improvement, profit optimisation and housekeeping
- Review intercompany differences. Monitoring the accuracy and ageing of entries processed
To be considered you must have:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting including CA/ CPA qualification
- Proven experience in Management Accounting within the logistics / supply chain industry or similar.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to take the initiative and seek continuous improvement
- Proficiency in SAP and Consolidation & Reporting software (preferably Hyperion)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and problem-solving
- Ramco systems experience (Desired)
- Container Chain Experience (Desired)
